Sky Q Remote Control: Basic Setup Instructions

Getting your Sky Q remote to control your TV's volume is straightforward. Follow these steps to pair your remote with your television.

Setting Up Your Remote

  1. Turn on both your television and your Sky Q box.
  2. Press the Home button on your Sky Q remote.
  3. Navigate to Settings, select Setup, and then select Remote Control.
  4. Choose your remote control model from the list.
  5. Select Control your TV.
  6. Select Find it for me and enter the first letter of your TV brand.
  7. Select your TV brand from the options provided.
  8. Press and hold buttons 1 and 3 together on your remote for 2 seconds until the light flashes.
  9. Enter the numeric setup code shown on your TV screen into the remote.
  10. Test the volume buttons to check if your TV responds.
  11. If the pairing works, select Yes. If not, select No, try another to attempt a different code.
  12. If you have an audio system or soundbar, follow the on-screen prompts to pair it as well.
  13. Select Finish to save your settings.

Troubleshooting

If your remote doesn't respond during setup, you may need to reset it. Press and hold buttons 7 and 9 together for 3 to 5 seconds until the light flashes four times. Once reset, repeat the setup steps above. This usually resolves any pairing issues and allows your remote to communicate properly with your TV.
