Unicable II™ LNB – Advanced Multi-Receiver Satellite Solution

The Unicable II™ LNB allows up to 32 satellite receivers to be connected using a single coax cable, making it ideal for modern satellite installations. It supports both EN50494 and EN50607 (JESS) protocols, giving receivers access to a virtually unlimited number of satellite transponders when operating in Dynamic Mode.

Dynamic Mode

In Dynamic Mode, receivers can independently access any available satellite transponder. This allows multiple users to watch or record different channels simultaneously without requiring additional cabling.

Static Mode

The LNB can also operate in Static Mode, where specific transponders are permanently mapped to IF frequencies. This enables an unlimited number of receivers to access up to 32 stacked transponders, making it particularly suitable for:

  • Multi-room satellite distribution

  • Apartment buildings (MDU installations)

  • Large residential systems

Digital Channel Stacking Technology

The Unicable II™ LNB uses digital channel stacking technology, which combines advanced wideband A/D conversion with digital signal processing to:

  • Select satellite transponders

  • Convert them to intermediate frequencies

  • Stack them efficiently onto a single cable output

This technology significantly reduces cabling requirements, lowers installation costs, and simplifies system upgrades.

Flexible Configuration

The LNB offers extensive configuration options that can be adjusted using the SatPal™ Controller (sold separately), including:

  • Dynamic or Static operating modes

  • Output power level

  • Channel bandwidth

  • User band (UB) numbers

  • Centre frequencies

  • Dish alignment mode

All settings can be programmed or updated directly on-site.

Power Options

The LNB can be powered in two ways:

  • Directly from a compatible satellite receiver (STB)

  • Using an AC/DC adapter with a power inserter if the receiver cannot supply sufficient power

Compatibility

The Unicable II™ LNB is fully backward compatible and integrates seamlessly into:

  • EN50494 installations

  • EN50607 (JESS) systems

  • Mixed EN50494 / EN50607 setups

It works with compatible set-top boxes, next-generation PVRs, and home gateway systems (HGWs).
